Rachel Gold and Kirstin Cronn-Mills
Today we had Rachel Gold and Kirstin Cronn-Mills join us at Addendum. Both authors were nominated for the Lambda Literary Awards this year for their books Being Emily and Beautiful Music for Ugly Children, respectively.
The Lambda Literary Awards celebrate achievement in lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) writing.
Both books are about transgender teens, and each author read an excerpt from her book, and then we had a discussion about the books, transgender teens in YA lit, and more!

AS King Event at Addendum

| AS King at Addendum |
Today was another busy day for AS King! This afternoon we were at the Rice Street Teen Zone (an event organized by the St. Paul Public Library), where Amy talked with a roomful of teens about her books, herself, bullying, and also answered any questions they had.
Next stop was dinner at WA Frost!
Then we headed across the street to Addendum for Amy's store event with us.
She read from her newest book, Ask the Passengers.
Amy also read to us from her next book, Reality Boy, due out in October.
She answered questions after the reading, and we enjoyed learning even more about Amy!
After the Q&A, Amy signed books for those in attendance. (We have signed copies of her books at the store, in case you weren't able to make it tonight!).

We had a great time these past two days while AS King was in town, and look forward to her next visit!
Edited to add: Thank you to Amy for the kind words she said on her blog about Addendum!
