Addendum Books has partnered with the Loft Literary Center to bring you several amazing opportunities this summer! First up, this Saturday, June 28th you can meet Joelle Charbonneau, author of The Testing trilogy! There are two ways to meet her. If you are a teen between the ages of 13 and 17, you can sign up for a writing class at the Loft with Joelle as your teacher! The class is from 1pm-3pm, and as you can see from the flyer above, the class will be on world-building. Visit the Loft's website for more information on the class, and to register. The cost is $35, but there are also scholarships available, so don't hesitate to contact us about that!
Also on June 28th, we are hosting our first teen open mic night [catchier name coming soon…] in collaboration with the Loft! Joelle Charbonneau will be our special guest author for the evening. She will be listening to teens read their own work, and will be available for signing her books. The event starts at 7:00pm. If you are a teen interested in reading your work at our store, please email us at: addendum books [at] gmail [dot] com. Each reading can be as long as 3-5 minutes. Space is limited, but there are a few spots left!
If you can't make it this Saturday, you have two more opportunities this summer to join us for an open mic night! On Friday, July 25th kids age 6-12 will be able to read their work starting at 6pm, and at 7pm on the same night, teens age 13-19 can read their work.
Our third open mic night will be at 6pm (for ages 6-12) and 7pm (ages 13-19) on Friday, August 15th.
There will be at least one published guest author in attendance at each reading (authors for the evenings TBA).
